Year 7 Wench Ford Trip Royal Forest of Dean : June 2003
Part of the Year 7 Geography work is to study the dynamics of river and stream flows. An ideal (and safe!) place to study this is Wench Ford in the Royal forest of Dean. Here there are several streams and brooks to study.
Besides getting wet and muddy we learnt about the mysteries of erosion and deposition, velocity and currents. Many boys showed excellent practical skills, abilities which it is often difficult to develop in the classroom, making this sort of work extremely worthwhile.
A question that always gets asked is - "What are the 'Bonio' dog biscuits for?"!
