The afternoon comprised a Cotswolds tour with the school's renowned expert, Mr McBurnie.
Jinja is the source of the White Nile. Mr Seales and Mr Crewe
were able to stand on the banks of Lake Victoria and see the source (now
submerged following the building of the Owen Falls Dam), first identified by
John Hannington Speke in 1862. The Nile is perhaps 400 metres wide when it
begins its 4,000 mile, 3 month journey. In a nice parallel, we were able to show
Petronella and Ben the source of the Thames. They were perhaps disappointed!
There was a chance to also visit Gloucester Cathedral.
