Rhineland Trip

26-30 October 2001

In October we organized our first trip for year 9 pupils to the Rhineland. 35 pupils took part in a PGL "Language Detective Course", the aim being to encourage pupils to actively use their language and detective skills to find out certain items of information. It was not all work, however, and the group enjoyed visits to the Marksburg castle and the picturesque towns of Rüdesheim and Boppard. From Boppard we took a chairlift and enjoyed spectacular views of the river Rhine. Swimming and bowling in Koblenz, a river trip along the Rhine and a visit to a German ice-cream café contributed the fun element to this successful and worthwhile trip.
