Gloucester rugby hero Terry Fanulua came to Sir Thomas Rich's today to present the rugby cups and awards at the end of term assembly. It was a great honour to have this much respected Western Samoan international doing the honours and the recipients of rugby colours were chuffed to shake the great man's hand and later pose for photographs with him. We thank Gloucester RFC for permitting Terry Fanulua to join us and make the morning such a prestigious occasion.

The school's Explorer Scout Unit staged yet another successful, mentally taxing yet enjoyable evening of brain-teasing and memory recall. The move to a Saturday evening from its traditional Friday night slot had little impact on attendance - 7.30pm found the school hall filled with over 35 teams and the air verily thrummed to the sound of little grey cells working overtime as Quiz Master Chris Gallant unleashed a taxing array of questions and puzzles.
It was all in a good cause - money was raised for the National Meningitis Trust, PMM - our link school in Uganda - and Project Trust charity. We thank everyone who supported this event and invite you to join us at the next Quiz Evening to be held early in May.
Thinking Caps on, Boys!
The first competition in the inter-house Cock House trophy is House Art. As usual standards proved very high with excellent offerings from all years. The format this year was altered to allow a greater choice of different media to be used and explored, especially digital photography and picture editing.
Our thanks to Mr Lockey who organises the event and marks all the contributions.

Guest of Honour this year was Bridget Kendall MBE, Diplomatic Correspondent for the BBC, who gave us a personal insight into her career development and how her father's advice while she was still at school enabled her to follow an exciting and interesting career. He told her to follow her interest in her studies - Russian - rather than settle for the 'safe' options. Choosing something unusual and exciting, albeit risky (in terms of job related opportunities), would get you noticed and bring rewards provided you tried your very best to succeed in it. This she felt had been her story and had made her own 'luck' at getting the breaks and opportunities that opened up new and exciting avenues and adventures.
Below are a few photographs of the guests mingling with Staff and Prize Winners after the Prize Giving ceremony.
This years main school production is 'A Christmas Carol'. Book the dates now in your Diary! Performances will be on 1st, 2nd & 3rd December. Curtain up - 7.30pm.
